声音艺术与表演艺术皆拥有着无法被触碰的空间。它们瞬时存在于观众面前然后不留痕迹的消失。你无法把控它们，只能在稍纵即逝的瞬间去感受。
《感知聆听》艺术表演项目邀请来自S.L.A.T.E. 现代舞团的三位表演者，从《透明的声音》展览核心筒展厅作品的声音中获得灵感，并做出的回应与理解。她们将为“倾听”这一行为更添加一层瞬间性的意义。
三位表演者将在展厅内展开表演，并随着环境和观众的声音从黑暗中脱颖而出。她们是无法触碰的光和影，她们显现为声波，共鸣与颤动从而创造了一个感知的世界。

ANNELIESE CHAREK
ANNELIESE CHAREK是一位专注于以舞蹈、电影和视频为创作媒介的来自洛杉矶，目前工作生活于上海的艺术家。她在加州艺术学院获得了舞蹈表演/编舞/制作方面的艺术学学位。毕业后加入 Li Chiao-Ping 舞蹈团，随后进入威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校学习录像装置（video installation）硕士课程，又在布拉格电影学院学习电影导演。Anneliese已经在上海生活了五年，并在此期间联合创办了Basement 6 Collective实验艺术社区和SLATE现代舞团。

RACHAEL ELLIOT
RACHAEL ELLIOT成长于马萨诸塞州，在贝蒂·冈德森舞蹈学院和伍斯特芭蕾学校学习舞蹈。2011年加入史蒂芬·什普罗的公司并获得与格蕾丝公主基金会的合作。也曾参与阿隆佐·金的LINE 芭蕾，北京舞蹈/LDTX，vail现代舞项目，蓝蝎子舞蹈中心等。2012年开始，她开始在圣弗朗西斯科进行创作，她被邀请成为SAFE House常驻艺术家并与科里纳·金尼尔合作编舞并创立vail现代舞项目。

KARA MADDEN
KARA自五岁起在Grand Rapids芭蕾舞团学校学习舞蹈，曾出演“胡桃夹子”、“灰姑娘”、“仲夏夜之梦”等诸多经典舞蹈剧目。作为克利夫兰Verb芭蕾现代舞公司的一员，她已经参与了五季并作为成员完成了许多精彩演出，例如玛莎·葛兰姆的“阿帕拉契之春”、安东尼·布朗的“延续性”，托米·埃文斯的“暧昧之行”，并作为主演出演了理查德·狄根思的著名剧目“卡门”。
卡拉有着超十年的芭蕾和现代舞的教学经验，也曾为学生编舞并辅导他们成功晋级了美国青少年芭蕾大赛。

JULIE S.
JULIE S.出生在乌克兰，作为一名编舞、表演者、教师，主要在当代舞蹈、形体戏剧、接触即兴以及定点演出等领域工作。她曾在哈尔科夫芭蕾学院现代舞系学习，并曾在莫斯科国际舞蹈表演中心TSEKH学习过五年、在乌克兰哈尔科夫现代芭蕾工作室担任过舞者。 还在哈尔科夫与莫斯科从教6年，教授当代舞蹈、即兴以及作曲。2009年加入乌克兰可塑剧场公司Laboratoriya Teatrra。2012年成为自由舞蹈家，曾参与过多届国际接触即兴艺术节，并关注当代舞蹈、当代芭蕾、嘎嘎语言、接触即兴、定点表演、作曲、意识形态等方向的作坊。
关于SLATE现代舞团
S.L.A.T.E. 现代舞公司成立于2014年，他们以实现上海现代舞蹈的生态多元化为己任。S.L.A.T.E.立足于上海社区，结合西方当代舞蹈的样式，进行表演、编舞等活动。三个核心成员皆来自美国，但有着各自不同的背景和舞蹈教育经历，身兼舞者与编舞指导的角色。
The art of sound and the art of performance both occupy an untouchable space. Existing momentarily in front of an audience, disappearing without a trace. They are things that you cannot hold onto, that you cannot have, that you can just experience for one fleeting moment. The performance consists of four members of S.L.A.T.E. Drawing inspiration from sound emissions, the performers listen, react, interpret, leave you with something. They provide another ephemeral layer to the act of listening.
A STATE OF TRANSPARENCY / BREATH / SILENCE / PERMEABLE / PHYSICAL SENSATION / PERCEPTION
Three performers move within the exhibition hall, standing out from the darkness, guided by the sounds of the atmosphere and audience. They are darkness and light, what cannot be touched. Listen. They manifest the sound waves, resonance, vibrations. They create a tangible world in response to what only can be perceived.

▍About the artists
CHOREOGRAPHER / ANNELIESE CHAREK
From Los Angeles, Anneliese is an artist working in dance, film and video. Her work also involves in a large part ‘arts facilitation’ and creating opportunities for other artists in the community. She received her BFA from California Institute of the Arts in performance, choreography and production. After graduating she danced with the Li Chicago-Ping Dance company for two seasons, and later attended University of Wisconsin-Madison for a Masters in film and video as well as Prague Film School for a program in directing. In 2013 she co-founded the community art space Basement 6 Collective where she currently works to facilitator exhibitions, residencies and public events. In 2014 she founded SLATE contemporary dance company, with the hopes of developing the contemporary dance scene in Shanghai. She has presented her own work and been invited to perform with other artists at a number of Shanghai institutions including : MOCA Shanghai, Power Station of Art, Minsheng Art Museum, Chronus Art Center, Himalaya Art Center’s Shanghai Project, Vision Art Center, TED X Suzhou, Mcam, K11, Shanghai Normal University and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra House to name a few. She is currently pursuing her Master’s at Shanghai Theater Academy.
DANCER / RACHAEL ELLIOT
From Massachusetts, she studied at Betty Gundersen Studio of Dance and Ballet Arts Worcester (formerly the Performing Arts School of Worcester). She received her high school diploma from University of North Carolina School of the Arts (with a ballet emphasis) and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance performance from the Alonzo King's LINES Ballet/Dominican University BFA Program in 2011.
In 2011, she joined Stephen Shropshire's company, Noord Nederlands Dans after receiving a fellowship through the Princess Grace Foundation. She have also danced professionally with Alonzo King's LINES Ballet, Beijing Dance/LDTX, Vail Contemporary Dance Project, Blue Scorpion Dance Theater, Gretchen Garnett and Dancers, Daiane Lopes da Silva and Joe Landini. In 2012, she began creating work in San Francisco, CA. She was asked to be a Resident Artist with SAFE House for the Performing Arts and choreographed a duet with Corina Kinnear which premiered in 2013 at The Garage (SF). She also co-founded Vail Contemporary Dance Project with Kinnear and premiered a new work that was featured at an outdoor performance in conjunction with the Vail International Dance Festival in Vail, CO.
DANCER/ KARA MADDEN
Kara began her training at age five at the School of the Grand Rapids Ballet Company.
In 2010, Kara graduated Summa Cum Laude from Aquinas College with a double major in English and Biology. During college, Kara continued training at GRBC and participated in the summer intensive programs at STEPS on Broadway, Merce Cunningham, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Kara also performed with the Chicago Civic Ballet, directed by Larry Long, in its production of The Nutcracker, and is a founding member of the Grand Rapids Dance Project.Kara danced for five seasons as a company member at Cleveland’s Verb Ballets Contemporary Dance Company. At Verb, she performed many outstanding and dynamic pieces, including Martha Graham’s Appalachian Spring, Heinz Poll’s Eight by Benny Goodman, Antonio Brown’s Continuum, Tommy Waheed-Evens’ Ambiguous Drives, Shapiro and Smith’s To Have and to Hold, Ian Horvath’s Laura’s Women, and the title role in Richard Dickenson’s Carmen, among many others.
Kara has taught all levels of ballet and contemporary for more than 10 years, and has sent students to the Youth American Grand Prix with her choreography and coaching.
DANCER/JULIE S.
Julie S. was born in Ukraine but belongs to the world.Choreographer, performer, teacher. She works mainly with contemporary dance, physical theatre, contact improvisation and site-specific performance. In her works she mostly interested in social problems, surreal reality, modern technologies and online process, trying to open a window to offline world.She studied at the Kharkov Ballet School on Modern Dance department. Was a student of International Dance and Performance Center TSEKH, Moscow, for 5 years. Participated in International Contact Improvisation festivals. She focused on workshops of contemporary dance, contemporary ballet, gaga language, contact improvisation, site specific performance, composition, ideokinesis.For 3 years she was a dancer of Modern Ballet studio, Kharkov, Ukraine. From 2009 to 2012 she was joining laboratoriya teatrra, Ukrainian plastic theatre company. In 2012 she became freelance dancer and founded DANCEGRITY, a company where performers can integrate and express any their own understanding of dance.
▍About SLATE CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY
SLATE contemporary dance company has existed since 2014. Founded out of the need to encourage and nurture the independent dance scene is Shanghai. It’s members have included both local and international dance artists. Everyone contributes, everyone creates. It acts as springboard for dancers and choreographers to train and produce work. SLATE does not work commercially, asking its members and audiences to thin more experimentally.
